Expert Dyslexia Assessments for Confident Learning
Welcome to Holme Valley Dyslexia Centre
I’m Halina Connolly, an experienced dyslexia specialist based in Holmfirth. With over 24 years as a teacher, senior leader and SENCo across three local authorities, I now provide independent diagnostic assessments for children and young people aged 7–18.
I hold a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and am AMBDA-accredited by the British Dyslexia Association, recognising the highest standards in both teaching and assessing learners with specific learning difficulties.
All assessments follow the 2024 Delphi definition of dyslexia and are fully compliant with SASC guidelines. Each report is detailed, research-based, and designed to give a clear picture of a learner’s strengths and needs. Reports can be used to support schools, exam access arrangements, and (where appropriate) workplace adjustments.
